Born in Spain. Lives and works in Amsterdam
Attracted to visual storytelling from an early age, Mar Cuervo has engaged multiple artistic mediums throughout her career, from photography to video installations to sculptures made out of latex.
The constant theme in her art revolves around the ideas of the female identity, histeria, anger and expectations.
Her work has organically transitioned from stillness to video loops using repetition as a form of exploration.
Cuervo conveys an interest in the intimate and autobiographical and the erratic nature of the human being.
She holds a PhD in Gender Studies by UCM (Madrid).
